Ella’s Fund PAC uses multiple criteria to consider a candidate for endorsement. The decision to endorse a candidate will reflect a balance of several factors including but not limited to:

• Commitment to the values and mission of Ella’s Fund PAC

• A record of achievement on public policy and leadership on areas of concern to Ella’s Fund

• Demonstrated leadership potential - candidates with experience as grassroots organizers and grassroots leadership are encouraged to apply

• Seeking to serve an elected position in the Hamden or New Haven, CT municipalities

• Degree to which the candidate reflects the diversity of the communities of Hamden and New Haven. Candidates who reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of the communities; LGBTQI+, and persons living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

Candidates seeking Ella’s Fund PAC endorsement must complete the candidate questionnaire by the established deadline.  Candidates may be invited for interviews as needed. 

 

Factors to be considered include:

• Demonstrated commitment and leadership for racial equity and Our Platform​

• Demonstrated effectiveness in coalition building

• Demonstrated leadership - inclusive of grassroots organizing and leadership

• Running for office in a position that represents Hamden or New Haven, CT
